Before Co-Founding the Special Education Leader Fellowship, Aqua Stovall consulted with schools to improve academic and compliance systems in the area of special education. Aqua was Assistant Superintendent and a Teacher Quality Specialist for Newark Public Schools. Prior to that she was the founding School Director of Arthur Ashe Charter, a FirstLine School, and later served as the Director of Student Support for FirstLine Schools. Aqua graduated from New Leaders for New Schools, and served as Assistant Principal at KIPP: McDonough 15 School for the Creative Arts. Aqua began her career teaching inclusion and taught pre-k through fourth grades in Gwinnett and Cobb County Public Schools in Georgia and Prince George’s County Schools in Maryland. Aqua received her Master’s Degree in 2005 and a B.S. from the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1996.
